Leonard J. Riedel, 89, died April 28, 2004.
Born in Boston Heights, he spent most of his lifetime in the area, and had retired as a Boston Heights police officer in 1983 after more than 20 years service. A U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, he was a lifetime member of the American Legion and V.F.W.
Preceded in death by his wife, Helen, in 1996, he is survived by daughter, Donna M. Riedel; son, Charles L. (Gloria) Riedel Sr.; grandchildren, Charles L. (Lisa) Riedel Jr., Rebekah A. Riedel, Veronica J. Lipply, Sarah M. (Wayne) Fleming; eight great-grandchildren; and brother, Donald Riedel.
The Mass of the Christian Burial was celebrated on Saturday, May 1, 2004, at Mother of Sorrows Catholic Church, Peninsula Ohio, Fr. John Terzano, celebrant. Private burial at Fairview Cemetery in Boston Heights.
