Dorothy (Dottie) Reinbolt (née Medhurst)

Dorothy (Dottie) Reinbolt (nee Medhurst) age 95. (d. about 25 March 2007)

A resident of Stow, Dottie spent most of her married life in Boston Heights where she and her husband, Larry, who preceded her in death, raised their family.

Dottie used her leadership skills to create the Boston High Band Parents (now Woodridge). She was President of the Boston High PTA and of the Hudson Women's Bowling League for eight years. She could always be counted on to champion causes for education or for her community.

A volunteer for fifteen years at Hale Farm and Village, Dottie was presented with an Older American Volunteer Award by Congressman Tom Sawyer for her service. She loved tennis, bowling, golf, gardening and crafts.

Recently her shoulders had become rounded and her frame had shrunk, but she was still a bold and determined woman who provided a treasury of memories for her family, friends and community.

Dorothy is survived by her three children, Don L. (Pat) of Akron, Jim M. (Laura) of Aspermont, Texas and Joan Brower (Phil) of Stow; grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and her adopted family Ray, Jana, Scott and Emily Crawford.

Graveside services were at All Saints Cemetery in Northfield. In lieu of flowers, Dottie requested memorials be sent to Pet Guards at 950 Hardy Road, Cuyahoga Falls, OH 44223 or to Hospice Visiting Nurse Service, 3358 Ridgewood Road, Akron, OH 44333.
