CORRESPONDENCE
[Note: The Mayor noted the upcoming public meeting on the State Route 8 construction project, 27 Feb at the Holiday Inn.]
AUDIENCE PARTICIPATION
[In response to a citizen's question, the Mayor and Mr. Goncy stated that the village's position on the State Route 8 project was that there was insufficient local access designed into the current plan, for example to allow safety forces access to northbound lanes of Rt.8, and also to allow access to Twinsburg Road. Mr. Goncy further stated that the Village was seeking changes to the current plan to address these concerns. Another audience member noted that the Macedonia fire inspector also had concerns about local access.]

ORDINANCE C-2002
[referred back to Street committee]
AN ORDINANCE CREATING THE POSITION OF PART TIME MAINTENANCE/UTILITY WORKER IN THE STREET DEPARTMENT OF THE VILLAGE OF BOSTON HEIGHTS, OHIO AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
[Mr. Goncy noted that someone was already working in this capacity and needed to be legitimized.]
ORDINANCE D-2002
[passed as Ordinance 3-2002]
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 139(a)(2) OF THE CODIFIED ORDINANCES OF THE VILLAGE OF BOSTON HEIGHTS TO AMEND THE AGE LIMIT TO EIGHTEEN YEARS OF AGE AND OUT OF HIGH SCHOOL TO BE A MEMBER OF THE FIRE DEPARTMENT OF THE VILLAGE OF BOSTON HEIGHTS AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
ORDINANCE E-2002
[passed as Ordinance 4-2002]
A TECHNICAL ORDINANCE AMENDING ALL SECTIONS OF THE CODIFIED ORDINANCES TO CHANGE THE USE OF THE WORDS "FIREMAN" OR "FIREMEN" TO "FIREFIGHTER" OR "FIREFIGHTERS".

RESOLUTION F-2002
[passed as Resolution 6-2002]
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CLERK TREASURER OF THE VILLAGE OF BOSTON HEIGHTS, OHIO TO ENTER INTO A LEASE AGREEMENT WITH VOICESTREAM PCS II CORPORATION TO ALLOW FOR THE USE OF VILLAGE PROPERTY FOR A CELLULAR COMMUNICATION TOWER.

RESOLUTION G-2002
[passed as Resolution 7-2002]
A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE BIDS OF "Babe Charrap Ford of McKeesport PA"
FOR THE PURCHASE OF TWO NEW POLICE CRUISERS.
[A bid was also received from "Sam Robinson Ford of Bloomington IN", which was found not to meet the specifications in as the specs said "2002 Ford" and this bid was for "2003 Ford". The winning bid was for $36,258 total for the two cars, after subtracting trade-ins and adding extended powertrain warranties. Chief Varga noted that one of the trade-in vehicles was already essentially disabled and unavailable for use, making a timely purchase of importance to the Village.]

COMMITTEE REPORTS

[Councilor Palumbo noted that the Safety-1 committee had reviewed proposed raises for the police department, as recommended by Chief Varga.]
[Councilor Slane noted that she had reviewed the January 2002 month's expenditures. Presumably they were all in order.]

[Councilor Cheung stated that he had reviewed the village finances through January 31 and found everything in order.]
