Gertrude A. Thomas, 78, a resident of Boston Heights since 1957, died Monday, March 22, 2004, at Stow Twin Pines Retreat Care Center.
She was born in Cleveland, Ohio, on Sept. 4, 1925, the daughter of Frank Sholle and Flora E. Ingram Sholle. Gertrude was a 1943 graduate of Northfield High School, a singer and teacher of piano. She was the former president of the Relief Society Organization of the Cleveland Third Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

Gertrude is survived by her husband, David C. Sr.; sons, David C. Jr. (Barbara) of Stow, Shannon (Char) of Dickson, Tenn., Patrick (Linda) of Kissimmee, Fla., John (Gail) of Bur lington, Vt.; daughters, Susan (Vaughn, deceased) Hayes of Carmel, Ind., Rebecca of Orlando, Fla., Sarah (Miner) Webster of Phoenix, Ariz.; 24 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren; brother, Russell (Evelyn, deceased) Sholle of Stow.
Funeral services at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 25, 2004, at Johnson-Romito, where the family will receive friends Thursday, 1 to 2 p.m. Inurnment at Northfield-Macedonia Cemetery.
