Legal Notice 2002-01

 

In accordance with the provisions of Chapter 5511 of the Ohio Revised Code, the Director of the Ohio Department of Transportation and the County of Summit Engineer will conduct a public hearing on Wednesday, February 27, 2002 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Holiday Inn Hudson, 240 Hines Hill Road near the junction of State Route 8 and the Ohio Turnpike, Boston Heights, Ohio for the purpose of hearing statements on the proposed improvement of a portion of State Route 8 in the Village of Boston Heights, City of Macedonia and Northfield Center Township, Summit County, Ohio. The public hearing will be conducted in an open house format with no formal presentation.

 

PROPOSED THE IMPROVEMENT AND ESTABLISHMENT OF A LIMITED ACCESS FACILITY FOR A PORTION OF STATE ROUTE 8 IN THE VILLAGE OF BOSTON HEIGHTS, THE CITY OF MACEDONIA, AND NORTHFIELD CENTER TOWNSHIP, SUMMIT COUNTY, OHIO, BY THE GRADE SEPARATION AND MAINTENANCE OF ACCESS WITH BOSTON MILLS ROAD AND HINES HILL ROAD, THE GRADE SEPARATION AND ELIMINATION OF ACCESS WITH TWINSBURG ROAD AND THE RECONFIGURATION OF THE INTERSTATE ROUTE 80 (OHIO TURNPIKE) AND INTERSTATE ROUTE 271 INTERCHANGES.

 

And being more fully described as follows:

 

Beginning at a point on State Route 8, said point being 0.5 mile, more or less, north of the point of crossing of State Route 303, thence in a northerly direction along the centerline of State Route 8 to the Interstate Route 271 Interchange, 0.78 mile, more or less, south of State Route 82 along the centerline of Interstate Route 271, and there terminate. Said described improvement having a total length of 4.68 miles, more or less.

 

At this public hearing, plans and maps showing the proposed improvement design, the approved environmental document in the form of an Environmental Assessment and an Individual Section 4(f) Evaluation for Mathews-Thomas Park, a video presentation and a 3-dimensional model of the proposed improvement will be displayed and offered for viewing. Maps, drawings, the approved Environmental Assessment/Individual Section 4(f) Evaluation, other pertinent information developed by the Ohio Department of Transportation and the County of Summit Engineer, and any written comments received as a result of coordination with state resource, recreation and planning agencies, federal agencies, local public officials and agencies, and public advisory groups will be made available to the public for viewing at the Ohio Department of Transportation-District 4 Office, 705 Oakwood Street, Ravenna, Ohio 44266. In addition, the approved Environmental Assessment is also available to the public for viewing from February 12, 2002, through March 14, 2002, at the following locations: the Akron-Summit County Public Library- Nordonia Hills Branch, 9458 Olde 8 Road, Northfield, Ohio 44067; the Peninsula Library and Historical Society, 6105 Riverview Road, Peninsula, Ohio 44264; and the Hudson Library and Historical Society, 22 Aurora Street, Hudson, Ohio 44236.

Anyone wishing to submit a written statement or exhibit concerning this project may do so by presenting it at the public hearing or mailing it to Mohamed Darwish, P.E., District Deputy Director, Ohio Department of Transportation-District Four, 705 Oakwood Street, Ravenna, Ohio 44266. The final date for submission of statements and exhibits is March 14, 2002.
