State Route 8 Public Hearing

Updated: Feb. 28, 2002

Ohio Department of Transportation District 4 and the County of Summit Engineer held a public hearing on Wednesday, February 27, 2002 to discuss proposed improvements to a portion of State Route 8 in the Village of Boston Heights, the City of Macedonia, and Northfield Center Township. Representatives from ODOT, the County of Summit Engineer’s Office, and URS Consultants were present to answer the questions and discuss the proposed project. Approximately 350 people were in attendance.

The project proposes to establish a limited access highway for a portion of SR8, eliminating most at-grade intersections that currently exist on SR8 from SR303 to I-271. Also included in the project is the reconfiguration of the Ohio Turnpike interchange, as well as the interchange at I-271.
