Dear Resident;

URGENT MEETING

THIS MAY BE OUR LAST CHANCE!!!

The Army Reserve has an option to buy 22 acres on Olde Eight Road South of Hines Hill R. and north of the Turnpike. The Army Corps of Engineers has stated that they would like to close on this property by the SECOND week of September, 2002!!!

We NEED your help to let Congressman LaTourette, Senator DeWine and Senator Voinovich know that we OPPOSE this. Representatives from the respective offices will be at a Special Town Hall Public Meeting on Thursday, September 5, 2002 at 7:30 PM at the Boston Heights Fire Station.

WE URGE YOU TO ATTEND - HERE'S WHY:

This building would have a devastating Economic Impact on our community. We could lose significant tax Revenue - the Army pays no Taxes to support our roads, Police and Fire, etc. The property values of your homes could change significantly. Recent article in the Wall Street Journal paints a picture of Reserve Bases that can do whatever they want once in the facility: barbed wire, generators, loud diesel trucks, large trucks on our roadways; all affect your property value!

Potential for accidents: the many bikers from the National Park System - and our residents and children - would be vulnerable to five hundred (500) of their personnel coming into your community during a 15 minute period - on WEEKENDS.

These are just some of the negative consequences of this facility to our community. Your attendance at the Town Hall Public meeting on Thursday, Sept. 5, 2002 at 7:30 PM is ABSOLUTELY essential if we are to stop this. Congressman LaTourette, Senator Voinovich, Senator DeWine and the Army Corps need to hear your voice!

YOUR ATTENDANCE SHOWS YOUR SUPPORT!

Sincerely,
